Meet Dani Kazlow, LPC
As a licensed professional counselor, my goal is to create a safe space for you to reflect on your story and move towards your goals. I work with individuals through a variety of issues such as suicide ideation and depression, OCD, anxiety, trauma, unwanted sexual behaviors and addictions, grief, spiritual hurt, eating disorders, and abuse. I am trained in EMDR and utilize an integrative approach.

Counseling Specialties
Suicide Ideation
Suicidal thoughts exist on a spectrum and are much more common than the public stigmatizes. We were created to live and survive, so any thoughts of death should be taken seriously. However, the world is also not as it should be so it shouldn’t be surprising to have thoughts of wanting to leave it. Treatment for suicide ideation is my favorite type of counseling because I get a front row seat to watching you live empowered and free, falling in love with who you were created to be. Together we will help you work through the depression and find a life worth living.
OCD
Those struggling with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) can feel haunted by persistent, unwanted thoughts (obsessions) and repetitive behaviors (compulsions) that are performed in order to alleviate the anxiety caused by these thoughts. These symptoms go beyond what you find on social media and aren’t just people who are “clean freaks” or “up tight”. Obsessions can manifest in multiple different categories, such as religion (scrupulosity), harm, contamination, symmetry or “just right” OCD, perfectionism or OCDPD, relationships, and more. For treatment, I utilize exposure and response prevention therapy (ERP) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) to face the fears and discover where they came from in order to bring lifelong healing and freedom.
Sexual Brokenness
Sexual brokenness can be broken into two categories of those who have been the recipient of abuse and those struggling with unwanted sexual desires such as a porn addiction or mentally preoccupying fantasies. Most people don’t enjoy talking through this part of their lives with others as it can be sensitive and uncomfortable to address. My hope is to be a safe place for you to talk through these areas so you can overcome shame and find deep healing and freedom.
Grief
Grief isn’t just limited to the loss of life, it can also be the loss of immaterial things such as a dream or a relationship. Grief requires both honor and honesty. We must honor the beauty of what was lost and eventually face the truth that it will not come back. Oftentimes, prolonged grief can cause us to get stuck in an imaginary life that we could have had if the loss had not happened. This can fill us with regret, bitterness, resentment, fear, and shame- all prohibiting us from living in freedom in the present. Together we will mourn and correctly identify the loss in a way that allows you to let go and move forward with acceptance and gratitude.
Trauma
Trauma is anything that overwhelms the nervous system in a way that the body does not have the resources to correctly address. This could be a singular big event, such as a car crash or a messy divorce, or a compilation of seemingly smaller events that add up over time, such as bullying or emotional neglect. Trauma, if untreated, starts to create maladaptive core beliefs about yourself, the world, and God that cause hurt and pain in the present. For treatment, I utilize narrative therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and a form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to replace these maladaptive beliefs with more true and adaptive ones.
Eating Disorders
Whether you have an eating disorder or disordered eating, you were not created to be at war with your body. Oftentimes we blame our bodies for the rejection, pain, or lack of control we have received which causes us to believe that if we could just change our image then we would be safe, accepted and loved. We will work through these beliefs and past hurts to help you and your body to be on the same team again.
